August is always a tough time of year. We all know that summer is ending. Our summer adventures are wrapping up. Everyone is heading back to school and work in a few weeks. We miss summer as we return back to our regularly scheduled activities. Practicing self care while busy is tough!
As you begin to shift back to your regular routine, it can be challenging to feel like you are still in control of your life. Juggling work, school and fun adventures is tough. We’ve put together some tips on how to juggle work, school and adventures with a focus on self care.
Why are we focusing on self care?
Easy answer. Caring for yourself is an easy way to carve out a few moments of you-time. This you-time will help you create and maintain a work-life balance. This balance is key to achieving work productivity, school and having fun.
Self care is important. Caring for yourself means you have the capacity and love to care for others too!
I can have it all?
Through a great work-life balance you’ll feel like you have it all. When returning back to school or returning to work or your regular routine, carve a few moments out to spend some time with yourself.
What do I do during my you-time?
Easy, practice self care! Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a break from what’s going on around you and focus on relaxing.
We recommend some meditation or enjoying a few moments in the shower or bath. Self care doesn’t look the same for everyone. But practicing self care means the same – a few moments to recharge your batteries, focus on you, breathe deep, de-stress and relax.
How can I practice self care at school? I’m a student and I’m swapped with everything.
Easy, take one day at a time. You know your school schedule. Throw in assignments, work and other demands. You have zero time for anything. But self care doesn’t have to be expensive or long. Take 5 minutes before bed to breathe deeply. Take 10 minutes before to have a warm shower and wash away your day. If you have 30 minutes, sink into a warm, soothing bath.
