One of the most wonderful things you can do for yourself is set aside a few minutes to practice self care. With all this talk about self care we decided to take a few minutes to answer some questions about self care?
What is self care?
We know you care for family, friends and loved ones. But who cares for you? This is where self care arrives. Self care practices are the moments where you care for yourself. When having a shower alone – that’s self care, when having a bath alone, that’s self care, when swinging in a hammock and dozing – that’s self care.
Isn’t it gross?
You might not be thinking about caring for yourself. You might be thinking about pleasuring yourself. These are two very different things. We focus on self care, caring for yourself.
How do I start?
Easy. Self care is tailored to you, individually. What do you like? What makes you feel good? A long soak in the bathtub is self care. Add in our Goat’s Milk Bath for a luxurious soak in the tub, complete with moisturizing. After your bath use our Body Butter or Body Oil to seal in the moisture.
If you’re a shower person, you can still practice self care. May we recommend using our Coffee Body Scrub or Salt Body Scrub in the shower? As you exfoliate dead skin, you’ll feel like a new person. We recommend our Body Powder or Body Oil to seal in the moisture after your bath or shower.
Not looking for self care related to bathing? There are self care practices like pedicures, manicures and an at-home spa experience that can help you relax and de-stress. Visit our blog to learn more about these individual topics.
Relaxing and de-stressing is the ultimate goal of self care. If you’re looking for a quick way to practice self care, we recommend our Self Care Gift Set.
