Lavender, Oatmeal and Honey D.I.Y. Face Mask

Keep your skin healthy, glowing and acne-free with this DIY Lavender, Oatmeal and Honey Face Mask.  This all-natural face mask helps relieve redness and skin irritation all while leaving a natural glow to the skin.

Just like Lavender, oats are known to be soothing and help relieve inflammation as well as irritation.  Oats naturally balance oils and dryness, and help slough off the dead skin cells. Honey is antibacterial and is also antiseptic, also like Lavender!  Combined, the Oats +  Honey + Lavender together create a soothing face mask.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon lavender buds
  • hot water

Directions:

  • In a food processor or blender, blend oats and lavender until fine powder. 
  • Pour the ground oats/lavender mixture into a bowl.  
  • Add the honey and mix with a spoon until incorporated.
  • Add a splash of hot water to the mixture and stir until well combined.  [Aim to have the face mask a  bit on the thicker side, so add a small amount of  water at a time until finding the right consistency.  It should be like a paste instead of runny.]
  • Apply the mask to a freshly cleaned face and let sit for about 10 minutes. [TIP: it’s nice to apply before a hot shower or bath because the steam from the shower will open your pores to allow the mask to soak in and penetrate deeper.]
  • Rinse off the mask with warm water and cleanse your face again with Skin Fresh Facial Mist.  [Recommended to repeat 1 to 2 times per week.]

Use Lavender to Make an All-Purpose Cleaner

Avoid nasty, harsh cleaning chemicals by using lavender to make an all-purpose cleaner for counters, floors, stovetops, etc. The ingredients are simple! Just take a large spray bottle, add a cup of white vinegar, about a tablespoon of baking soda, a cup or so of water, and then add lavender essential oil drops (as many as needed for the desired scent). Use Lavender All-Natural Laundry Detergent

Using lavender laundry detergent along with distilled white vinegar is a safe, easy, and effective way to get clean clothing that smells incredible. Lavender’s antibacterial properties ensure your laundry is disinfected naturally. A rule of thumb is 1 tablespoon of our laundry detergent for every 1/4 cup of distilled white vinegar.
